BREAST AUGMENTATION
CHEST SURGERY
It’s important to understand the anatomical differences in the rib cage between individuals assigned male at birth and cisgender women, and to plan surgery in a way that addresses these differences.
- 1
Breasts and the inframammary fold tend to be positioned higher on the chest.
- 2
The distance from the nipple to the inframammary fold is shorter.
- 3
The rib cage and sternum are wider.
- 4
Chest muscles are thicker.
- 5
Nipples and areolas are typically smaller and positioned more laterally.

A formal diagnosis of gender incongruence or prior gender-affirming hormone therapy is not required for breast augmentation surgery. However, feminizing hormone therapy can promote some breast tissue growth and improve skin elasticity, which may lead to more natural-looking results. For this reason, it is generally recommended to consider surgery after undergoing hormone therapy for at least 6 to 12 months.
Implants are selected in shapes and sizes that best suit your body type, creating natural, aesthetically pleasing breasts.
Excess fat is harvested from areas such as the abdomen, flanks, or thighs, purified, and then transferred to the breasts to add volume.
Combines the long-lasting volume of implants with the soft, natural feel of fat grafting. For transgender women, who may have a wider sternum, fat grafting can help achieve a more balanced and natural-looking shape.
In cases where there is a significant amount of abdominal fat and loose skin, this tissue can be removed through abdominoplasty and simultaneously used to add volume to the chest.
At the LGBTQ+ Center, we use only breast implants that have been proven to be safe. Each type of implant has its own advantages and disadvantages. During your consultation, we will recommend the most suitable implant for you, taking into account your body type, preferred size, shape, and feel.

Transgender women may choose to undergo a range of surgical procedures, such as facial feminization surgery, breast augmentation, voice feminization surgery, thyroid cartilage reduction, and gender affirmation surgery. At the LGBTQ+ Center, we work closely with each patient thorough consultations to determine the most appropriate sequence of procedures. Whenever possible, we also offer the option of performing certain surgeries simultaneously through multidisciplinary collaboration, ensuring a coordinated approach to the overall transition process.
